Team & Payroll

Two people did this inspection.
They are owed different amounts.

Which services each of them performed is a fact the job already holds. Nobody works it out again at the end of the month.

Who performed what changes what they are paid

The commission follows the service. Take somebody off one service and only that service’s share moves.

The pay types that live together

One person can be on an hourly rate, earn commission on a service, and be paid for an event the job created. All of it lands in the same pay period.

Only the types a company actually uses appear. Providers and field staff clock on the job, front desk and schedulers clock on shift, an owner is on a salary. The inspection on this page put $307.80 of that commission and $30.00 of that event pay into the period.

Pay the sale did not contain

Selling the radon test created a second visit to collect the monitor. That visit is work, so it carries its own pay into the same period.

Nobody has to remember it, and nobody has to argue it was owed.

Nothing enters payroll without a person

Anything typed by hand waits for a manager, and a pay period that has been closed is not edited afterwards.

Common questions

  • What happens when two people share one service?

That service's commission is shared between them. Each person's line names the service it came from, so the reason two people on one job earned different amounts is on the page rather than in somebody's head.

  • Can a rate be overridden on one job?

Yes, and the override is marked on the payout so it is visible later. The company default is unchanged.

  • What does a salaried person's timesheet show?

Their hours as recorded, and their pay from the salary. The two are labelled separately so recorded hours are never mistaken for payable hours.

  • Can a closed pay period be reopened?

A closed period is not edited in passing. Reopening it is a deliberate act, and the alternative is to record the correction into the current period.

  • Who can approve a manual item?

A manager. Each team member has a reporting manager on the roster, and roles and seats are set there too.

  • What if somebody is not eligible for one of the services on 412 Ridgeway Dr?

They earn no commission for that service. Eligibility decides who can perform it, and performing it is what pays.
