It knows how far away
the next one is.

Your inspectors open the day and it is already in order, with what each job still needs on it. The office stops being the thing they ring to find out.

How long to the next one, from where they are standing

Not from the office, and not from this morning. From the driveway they are currently walking down.

The schedule works because the driving was worked out before the day started. This is where that stops being a claim on a planning screen.

The same job, not a copy of it

The phone is not a second system that has to be reconciled with the first. It is the same inspection, at the same point in the same sequence.

  2. Agreement
  3. Report
  4. Invoice
  5. Completed
  • The report is written whether or not there is a signal

Basements, crawlspaces, the far end of a rural road. The writing does not stop because the bars did, and that is the part of the day where it matters most.

  • The report is locked here too

The same rule the office runs on. Unsigned agreement or unsettled invoice and it does not open, whichever side of it you are standing on.

    The rule itself
  • What is added on site lands on the job

A file, a note between the field and the office, a report written somewhere else and linked in. It goes on the record rather than into somebody's inbox.

  • The inspector sees what this one pays them

$94.85 on this job, from the services they actually performed. Not a number they have to wait until the end of the month to find out.

    How that is worked out

The office fits in a pocket too

The person who owns the company is also sometimes in a car. Creating work and clearing approvals are not desk activities that got a phone version, they are the same acts in a smaller place.

The point is not that it is possible. It is that nothing waits until somebody is back at a desk.

  • Create the job from a car park

An inspection, a follow-up event or a quote, with the same steps as the desk. Scheduling checks the driving against everybody's other jobs before it suggests a time.

  • Clear the approvals between two jobs

The pending list a manager works through: time off, a manual timesheet item, a reimbursement. Approving is the same act it is on the desk.

Common questions

  • Do inspectors need training on it?

It shows them their day and what each job still needs, in the order the day happens. The ones who resist software usually resist being asked to keep a second system up to date, and there is not one here.

  • What happens when two people work one job?

Both are on it. Hannah Reed and Devin Cole each see the inspection, and each sees their own share of what it pays, because the pay follows the services each of them performed.

  • Does the office see field work as it happens?

It is the same record, so there is nothing to send back. A note from the field, an attachment, a report going out: the office is looking at the thing that changed rather than at a copy of it.

  • What can an inspector not do from the phone?

The honest answer is that we would rather show you than list it here, because the edges are where this gets specific to how your office works. Bring the workflow you are worried about to the call.

  • Do timesheets and time off run there?

Yes, along with reimbursements. A manager clears the pending list from the same app, which is the half of this that is not about inspectors at all.

  • Which devices does it run on?

Worth confirming on the call against what your team actually carries, rather than us publishing a list here that ages.

Put it in an inspector’s hand

Bring the one who hates software, not the one who likes it. If the day makes sense to them in the first minute, it will make sense to everybody else.
